Waiting

Why is it that I can think of so many places I need to go when I have to wait at home for a delivery or a service repair?
My latest patience assessment has come in 2 forms: a furniture delivery and a washer repair appointment. One day last week, a furniture delivery scheduler gave me a 4-7 pm wait window. I wanted to attend a gospel meeting at 7:30 pm that evening, so I hoped the delivery would be closer to 4 pm than 7 pm. I waited until 7:30 pm, no furniture delivery. I wasn't happy with the non-delivery, but I knew hearing the gospel would be good for me. I left a phone message with the delivery service and went to church. I'm glad I did.
The next day, I negotiated another delivery (after making a few phone calls and calmly stating my case.) The following day, the furniture was delivered promptly in the morning.
Today, my wait window is 12-4 pm for the washer repair person. So far, so good. I'm working at my computer, like I should be. My mood is positive. I thank God that He's growing more patience in me.
Smiles,
Sylvia
